Implementation of the SMART Method in a Decision Support System for Student Achievement Assessment at SMK Mandiri

Final assessment or evaluation can be used to determine whether education is successful or not, in order to make the best decision, learning evaluation must be carried out according to established methods and steps. The teacher will determine where the deficiencies are and what needs to be corrected after reviewing the learning outcomes test. The selection of excellent students is a protracted and difficult procedure and less accurate due to manual evaluation oleh therefore the need for a decision support system to determine the value of calculations against all criteria. The main problem faced in this evaluation is the lack of use of technology, especially in the field of education, especially the process of evaluating student learning outcomes, which is the main problem faced in the evaluation process, especially at SMK Mandiri. The SMART (Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique) method in the decision support system is considered the most appropriate method in implementing the process of evaluating student learning outcomes. This method is based on the theory that each alternative consists of a number of criteria that have weights that describe how important one weight is compared to other weights. This method includes the first steps of determining the criteria, determining the weight of the criteria, normalizing the weight of the criteria, providing parameter values for each criterion, determining the utility value, and finally determining the final value. This information system is designed web-based using PHP programming language assisted by Codeigniter 3 framework and also mysql database. The results of this SMART calculation use 20 student data with 5 criteria, namely knowledge, skills, attitudes, absenteeism, and extracurricular. The experiment in the system is a ranking that is sorted based on the largest to smallest values and the calculation of the 20 data obtained by 3 outstanding students, namely the first with the final grade result of 152.5, the second 143.75, and the third 141.25.
